Default Replacement DME

I tihnk I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Can I put a matched DME/Immobilizer from a tiptronic 996 turbo into a standard 996 turbo? Part number: 996.618.606.01

According to the parts cat the DME part number for a tiptronic is 996 618 180 04…The number you have is for manual version which is 996 618 606 01…Imho I don't think you can switch them….

Thanks. After your post I asked him specifically about the part number, and he said that it is definately out of a tip tranny. Very wierd. He had it remapped with a Stage I upgrade. Do you think they could have remapped a std tranny DME to a tip tranny?

Sorry, I really don't know. A tuner like Kevin from www.Ultimatemotorwerks.com probably know the answer. You should ask him…
