That was pretty cool! I only wish I could understand their comments. I didn't realize the Murcielago had movable air intakes. You can see them retracting when the car was sitting still at one point. At what speed do they deploy?

yes it is very nice and informative. it expplains the car on both tracks Hockenheim and Nurburgring and compares it to the GT2.
it was usually 2 km/h faster than the GT2 at most places of the track except one place where the Gt2 was 10 km/h faster.
the overall time of the lambo was faster than the one of the GT2.
I think the new GT2 will be as fast as the lambo that has almost 100 HP more but also weights 1820 Kg vs ~1450 for the Gt2

Is there a way to download it or is it only available as streaming video?

The GT2 is faster on the nurburgring. It runs it somewhere in the 7,40's if I remember right. The GT3 is at 7,54 just 2 sec behind the lamborghini but the GT2 is significantly faster.

GT2 ran 7-45, what was the Lambo's time?

In oder for comparisons to be valid they really need to be done on similar tyres and with the same driver. Thats why I like the Auto Motor und Sport Tests - they always use the same driver.

http://www.murcie.de/murcielago-technik.html
for the tech data and real world performance.
I think the Lambo was fastr on the one track and slower on the other but do not remember exactly which one.

yes I just checked it was faster on Hockenheim
BTW one must know that the driver from Sport Auto was ALWAYS much slower than the Walter Roehrl who makes the test with the Porsche. The Gt3 time was over 8 min (8,03 sec ) and the same with the GT2 time which was slower too. So do not compare W. Roehrls time with the time of the other drivers. That means the Lambo could be much faster with W Rorl on the steering wheel (or W Roehrl is a better Porsche driver ;-))

Yes, but Horst von Saurma has also achieved 7:46 with the GT2, although his lap was a bit shorter than Rohrl's... so it's probably around 3 seconds or so?

Thanks, that was an enjoyable video! I thought the airflow sequence was pretty cool.0

Ken, it's your fault! Ever since I saw pics of your Gemballa 996 TT, I've been wanting one. When I was at the dealership, they had a new 996 TT, with tan interior. I kinda stared at it, holding my 944 shiftboot, and realized I like the lines...I don't...want to like...another Porsche!

Too late...so the sales guy talks with me, and he tells me that I can get the 2001 model for about $89K. Cheaper than I saw on the internet.

Oh, my boyfriend is going to want to kill me...I told him that I like it; but since he wants a BMW, I figure I'll eventually get one - after we get a house with a 3 car garage! One bay for the '83 944, one for a 944 Turbo S, and one for the 996 TT; he will have to park his Eagle Talon outside, heheheh.

I guess I better meet my deadlines...so this can happen.
