Default Video clip from a 3 oz camera

It helped my learning a lot.
Not much vibration from what I can see.

A comment for anyone intersted in posting video clips - clips encoded with the latest Windows Media codec (version 9?) don't display on the Mac. Please encode with either an older version of WMV or use a truly cross platform coded like DivX or MPEG4. And to anyone that suggests I should buy a PC - I drive a Porsche which has a miniscule share of the auto market, why would I be a lemming and use a Windows box?

So you feel special that you're not "conforming" and you're using a Mac?

Not being able to do everything that you can do on a PC is one of the downsides you have to deal with when using a Mac. Just like when driving a Porsche you have to deal with non-economy car like gas mileage.

Looks like the back straight of Watkins Glenn to me.

I don't just use a Mac, I've made my living writing software for the Mac since 1987. I find it funny that Porsche owners, who generally are more discerning car buyers than the average bloke, would be in the "me too" crowd when it came to computers. If you can afford the best cars you can afford the best computers. But that's way off topic for this thread.

The _only_ thing that I can't do on the Mac that I want to at this moment is view WMV 9 format track videos since M$ hasn't gotten around to providing a Mac version of the codec yet. Actually I _could_ play them if I installed a Windows emulator but there M$ strikes again. The Virtual PC software they acquired earlier this year doesn't run on the new G5 Macs and they haven't announced when it will (but they have said they're working on it).

"Me too" crowd?

People buy Porsche's because they are passionate about cars and took a liking to Porsche. (Either that or they like them because it has the crest on the hood) Do you really expect people to be as passionate about a computer as they are about their cars?

M$ is an evil empire, you must take them down! What do they think they're doing, making everything easy to do? We should all be using Linux and struggling to do every dam thing!

Apparently you use a PC. Did you come to that choice by evaluating the differences between a Mac and a PC, perhaps even trying both, to see which one provided the best match for your needs? Or did you buy a PC because 95% or so of the world uses one and you had more buddies with PCs you could copy software from?

Why not? And who sez car and computer people don't have a lot of passions in common? Walk into a computer store these days and see the huge selection of bling bling accessories like neon glow tubes. Sounds a lot like what car folks do to me

Did I say M$ was an evil empire? I thought that's what the US Govt said about them. I don't know your background but I've been playing with computers since 1976 and getting paid to deal with then since 1982 so I may have a better appreciation for the actual origins of advances in personal computers than you. M$ isn't it despite their PR to the contrary (and an amazingly large R&D budget). I don't use Linux or Windows because I don't want to "struggle to do everything." I want a computer that does its job quickly and efficiently but at the same time is something I enjoy using and to me that's a Mac. The same as driving a Porsche. It's just a car after all but I have one because I want to enjoy the drive rather than just going from point A to B.

P.S> My apologies to ypshan for hijacking his thread. I'm stopping now because discussing computer choice is like discussing choice of religion - there's rarely any point. Adrial can provide his rebuttal to balance me out and we're done

No need to apologize. I wanted to post in mpeg2 format but I couldn't find the converter on my PC. Microsoft made it so easy to export in their proprietary format but not the other standard formats with their pre-installed tools.

And to KPV, my turn in is also a bit too abrupt there. Exactly the benefit of the camera to help learning.

It's Watkins Glen as Jenner pointed out. Best track I have ever been to.
