Go to Suncoast Porsche order the kit , you get the filter, the filter housing "o" ring and the four crush washers, one for the crankcase, two for the turbo drains, and one for the oil tank. Cost $20

I really don't understand the pushing of the Mahle filter even if it is the same and if so there is no wrong answer= I can only guess its to save a few bucks that really is not a concern for me. Thanks Kevin I will save link.

In the scheme of things 10 dollars is nothing especially since this is the one car I leave stock. People change out perfectly good parts on here and 6spd everyday to improve performance on a car that 90% cant or don't need/use= and yes I know plenty of people here can use the added hp on the track etc but on the street who needs more then 400hp.Just making a point of how different people see money spent.

Here the difference between Mahle and Mann...
ok here is a crazy question but will they both fit even if the diameter in the center is different? I tried the small diameter one and I couldn't get it to fit.

have you changed the filter in the past?
the filters 'snap' into place(ie. a slight tolerance fit), they do not just glide onto the housing/cap

I did a ppi before I bought my car at a local dealer (Oakville). I had them cut open the filter and replace it with a new one....get this they charged me $70 for the filter alone ( I asked them and they double checked the price) that is crazy for an oil filter. I was glad it wasn't like my 993 turbo which had 2 filters

~300% part price markup. I wonder if they have that kind of markup on all their parts, so then a replacement engine from Porsche would cost more than the original purchase price of the car...
