Clutch pedal pressure is variable
I had a 996TT checked out by a fellow rennlister (996 NA owner) and he was saying that the pressure feel is variable. Apparently at higher RPMs, it feels lighter (relatively) compared to at idle.
The car has had its clutch plate/pressure plate and release bearing replaced about 8k miles ago (2 yrs ago) and clutch slave cylinder replaced 1000 miles ago.
Is the clutch pedal pressure normal for the 996TT? If not, what could possible be going bad?
Many thanks!
Cheers,
-K

clutch pedal pressure is "variable" due the the hydraulic assisted nature of how it "works" or doesn't as the case may be. may need to be re-bled. see slave e.g. last thing messed with. pentosin level/air in lines

Accumulator> did it get replaced with the slave??? Also, shops are NOT replacing the fork bushings and needle bearings. This causes binding in the throw/motion.

thanks 02996ttx50 and Kevin. I will ask the shop if they replaced the bushings and needle bearings when I talk to them tomorrow.

^ if you have a stiff pedal prior to startup you have the classic accumulator and possibly slave issue, though they are in fact interrelated, the accumulator is the far more common ( and less expensive ) issue to remedy. though the slave is never far behind. though given you've said it was recently replaced? keep the above advice in mind when querying the shop, and good luck. its minor stuff.
