dixis titanium exhaust for TT
Went to my friend's store in LA the other day. He has a dixis titanium exhaust on display for the 996TT. He told me to pick it up and see how much it weighs, I did.......with ease, then finding myself doing one handed arm curls with it. That thing is probably 10lbs or so. Wonder what it sounds like?

What shop is it? I've heard of TT exhausts from Japan made of Titanium. Those are about $7,000 a pop...not even sure how well they work though.
I'd like to check it out.

Ask Wilber, he is an expert on all japanese porsche parts.
The titanium exhausts do work and they are ultralight. MS Racing is also another famous titanium exhaust manufacturer. I believe IMEC makes some Ti exhausts also.
I am putting a full Ti header and exhaust sytem for my GT3.

Tyson...
I've been having difficulty finding Wilbur. I've e-mailed him, called him (cell disconnected), PM him...no reply. Could you e-mail me his new contact info? Or, I'll just see you guys on Sunday.
Thanks,
Chris

Has anyone looked at the oxidation issues (i.e., titanium oxidizes at approximately 550 degrees C) related to a titanium exhaust, particularly with respect to headers? Through clearly lighter than steel, there are a number of issues related to longevity that might be considered.

I think the oxidatoin issues have been remedied in some cases by adding other alloys to the titanium. FWIW
