and no worries, glad to help.
do the fact that the nuts are ball seat not cone make a difference ( as 993gt points out? ) in the application?? e.g. the studs bolt into my spindle/hub which is stock 996 turbo and the nuts ( cone or ball seat?? ) just tighten according to torque spec.. yes? the wheels are not stock. they are aftermarket made to fit my hub with a "hubcentric" ring. which shouldn't make any difference.

i've asked my tire shop about calling you guys tomorrow. pending possible order by them for me. need to sort these questions out first obviously. thanks very much for the answers/help.

in the back of my mind, i always wondered when ordering NON hubcentric wheels was going to haunt me. well.... i finally got that part figgered out.

BIG issue without the correct seat, perhaps the wrong picture used here...almost any wheel designed for Porsche's is the correct ball-seat, need the suitable nut/bolt

After removing the wheels for the first time on my 04, I was cursing the design. My wheels use Allen bolts so I doubt I can use these since they're made for cone/ball type of seat vs my flat bottom Allen bolts. I was actually thinking of getting a few studs to use as starters when puting the wheels back on as a guide/holder. Anyone else have these PIA wheels with Allen bolts? Any solution ?

If you wanna market these to street cars they need a Female allen head at tip of stud to allow a 993 style closed end Nut, otherwise open nut no so Pretty & need deeper nut to get enough turns, also make the studs longer to accommodate 8-20mm spacers? IMO

If so I'll take a set 8mm longer (all 20) for hub centric 7mm spacers.

I ran two DE seasons with the Rennline set, good for what they're worth. Their set is about $150, but their longest set is only 60mm.

Recently upgraded to the Apex Competition Systems (ACS) track stud set. They're bullet-nosed and very sturdy. ACS has over 20 years experience in competition car construction, race prep and track setup for World Challenge, IMSA GT, LMP, and Grand-Am Koni Cup teams. No affiliation, just a happy customer.
They're about $8 per, including lugs, so about $160 a set.

Melb-Mike I may be misunderstanding but I use the tool that comes in tool kit to help guide wheel on-off as to not mark up calipers= bought extras to have also.
