Default 996TT Wheel Stud Conversion Kit

RacingBrake offers wheel stud conversion kits for quick and easy wheel/rotor installations.
Instead of taking on and off the hub bolts, RB conversion bolts bolt onto the spindle and stay on for good once torqued. Acting like a traditional wheel studded spindle.

M14x1.5 Porsche Conversion Studs

RB wheel studs are made of alloy steel, heat treated, and certified to SAE 10.9 class. They feature an 8mm hex head for easy installation and replacement.
wheel nuts are made of alloy steel, with chrome plating for an attractive and lasting finish.

Thread Spec: M14x1.5
Length: 80mm (3.15")
Proof Load: 830 MPa (120,000 psi)
Tensile Strength: 1,040 MPa (151,000 psi)

Installation: Torque studs to 40-50 ft-lbs.

$10.58/per stud and nut seems a bit much.

Choose your studs wisely. Lots of failures out there too, more so than with OEM bolts. With that said, I've always had studs on my car without issues. Knock on wood... $10 for a quality stud & nut is about right btw..

Yes,
Our wheel stud conversion bolts are designed to thread into your spindle and stay on for good once torqued.

Before

After

with the nuts supplied,
you then only remove/reinstall the nuts when removing your wheels.
Eliminating the use of Lug Bolts.

I'm not very familiar with Forgestar other than the fact they are not "forged" so the name is a misnomer. I believe they are cast in the US from Asian (Chinese perhaps?) material. Since the lug bolts are unique to the wheels, I'd be willing to bet they are Chinese also, hence the quality issues you are seeing. I personally would not run any wheels that I could not run with OEM lugbolts or a good quality set of German made TUV studs. If I could not run a top quality set of wheels bolts or studs, I'd go with different wheels. A wheel flying off due to hardware failure is not acceptable. Too much at stake. That's just me.

you're right of course. these lugs are no longer the supplied ones that came from asia where the wheels were in fact made. the chinese are long since toast. the continuing issue is with "standard buy em anywhere 1.5 14mm lugs".

lot more homework to do. and i glanced at the h&r stuff. it's gettin complicated ( for me.. ) but thanks again for the advice.
