Default EVOMS 996TT Stage 1 Kit - Now $2995!

996TTSTG1HIT1024 by sstone@evoms.com, on Flickr

The EVOMS Stage 1 Upgrade Kit of today is an evolution of the original kits we designed for this car when it was released in 2001. As these kits have evolved so has their power, reliability and overall performance. This kit includes all of the products needed to take your car to the level we believe it should have left the production line with. While increasing airflow with the use of our V-Flow Air Intake kit with the highly reliable and precise Hitachi Mass Airflow Sensor, replacing the factory diverter valves which are prone to failure with our Billet Diverter Valves and rounding out the package with our EVOMSit software calibration your 996TT will be transformed into a very reliable and more powerful version of itself. Not only will you experience the increased power, but a much more direct and intuitive throttle response, a longer and smoother powerband, and a bigger smile on your face.

These kits are designed, tested and produced with the driver in mind. Not only do we prove their power on the dyno, but they are real-world tested by EVOMS employees, professional race car drivers and our customers. Forever evolving and perfecting the driving experience is our goal so we can provide you, our enthusiast customer, with the highest level of satisfaction with your prized automobile.

All of the components in this kit are applicable through our GT775 Signature Turbo Package, so if you plan on starting here and upgrading through the kits down the road you will not lose anything along the way. All of our kit components were designed with this mentality in mind to deliver not only performance gains to your vehicle, but a logical and cost-effective upgrade path to your power goals. These kits are OBDII compliant and maintain all factory safety parameters within the ECU. This kit will not cause a Check Engine Light or any other drivability issues.

Please note an ECU is not included with this kit, but the software upgrade for your ECU is. Please contact one of our sales representatives to plan the logistics of getting your ECU upgraded by us or one of our EVOMSit Software Partners around the globe. The kit does include all hardware and gaskets required for installation.

When ordering, please specify your preferred octane of fuel in the notes section so we can calibrate the software specifically to your needs. If you already have EVOMS components within this kit and are looking to upgrade to the next step, please contact one of our sales representatives at +1 (480) 317-9911 or at info@evoms.com

  • +64 Horsepower

Take a look at the mass air flow sensor. The stock Bosch sensor has the electrical connector in the middle of the sensor. The Hitachi has a flat cover on the sensor, and the electrical connector is off to the side. If you look closely in the first picture above you can see what I'm talking about. There will also be a short adapter harness between the stock MAF plug and the Hitachi sensor, so if you look at the wiring and find a second connector in the harness about 4" from the MAF, you've got the Hitachi sensor.

If you're not able to do that, PM or email (sstone@evoms.com) me your VIN and I can look up the car in our software database.

It appears that all the modifications are on the intake side, nothing on the exhaust. Are you assuming a modified header type exhaust has already been installed or are your claims based on the stand alone intake and ECU mods ?

If it is based on intake side only, how much more can be obtained by an enhanced exhaust system ?

We rate the x50/GT2 kit at 518hp, 514ft-lb on 92 octane with this Stage 1 kit. Adding an exhaust brings you to our Stage 2, which adds another 45hp and 44ft-lb, giving right around 100hp and 100ft-lb improvement to the wheels compared to stock.

An exhaust is worth quite a lot. On a K16 car, you'll see another 20-25hp and 20-25ft-lb at the wheels, as well as gaining 100-200rpm on spool up. On a K24 x50/GT2, it's worth about 40whp.

On both cars, the turbos will become more responsive due to reduced backpressure, so aside from peak numbers the car feels a lot better to drive.

And specifically what exhaust are you referring to, or does it matter?

There are a number of exhausts that will properly support these power levels, but our standard recommendation is the 63.5mm Fabspeed Maxflo for cars running up to our GT660 kit. Fabspeed's X-Pipe, Tubi, AWE, and a few others all make solid exhausts that make power, sound good, and hold up well over time.

Those interested in our Stage 2 package can find similarly updated pricing and information here: EVOMS Stage 2 Upgrade - $5995.

Results on base Turbo models:
513hp, 516ft-lb

Results on x50/GT2 models:
563hp, 558ft-lb - For best results, we recommend using our Wastegate Actuator Kit as well. We're working on incorporating this into the kit pricing.
