Default Gearbox out again

As some may remember I've had my gearbox repaired. Main shaft bearing was shot. After a year and a half and 15k miles later I have similar noise again. However to be fair it worked fine within this period. It appears the second bearing has gone (After exhausting research I now know that there are two bearings on the main shaft) the second one being pressed into place hence replacing it is more difficult. I presume this is why my tech didn't change the second one. I also understand that getting clearances right is the tricky part. And this was proven in my case. The idiot in addition to not changing the second bearing introduced 2nd gear pop out into my gbox. I presume this is due to incorrect stacking of the clearances but thankfully detent fixed it.

I am going with a different tech now who is hopefully better. I simply can't find a Porsche tech here in Slovenia (where I am based now) to competently address this gbox for me. I mean common any gearbox specialist should be able to do this, it's not rocket science right?

I have a question, I know the gearbox can be taken out with engine in the car. The new tech tells me that the engine has to be dropped slightly and that the coolant needs to be released in order to get the gbox out? Is this so?

Just assessing his knowhow...

Ps. Anyone knows of a blueprint relating to our gbox? PDF file - clearances?

The transmission in my 03 Turbo was removed to fix an RMS leak. The engine stayed in place. I do not know if the tech had to drop the engine slightly to get the transmission out.

He didn't drain the coolant entirely. He drained it from the engine. He clamped the hoses then disconnected them from the water pump and pushed the hose ends out of the way. He collected the coolant from the engine and replaced it after the transmission was back in the car and the hoses reconnected.

Oh, I should add the engine was supported by a special (Porsche or ?) engine support that bolts to where the rear swap bar bolts and runs under the engine and is used to hold the engine in place while the transmission is out. This is the first time I've seen this support used. Once before when the transmission was removed to replace it -- under CPO warranty -- the tech used an engine support stand/jack.
