How can I determine what tune the car has? I have no information from the previous owner.

Thanks
I do not have my references handy but there are OBD queries that can be made of the DME that will have as part of the reply information regarding the image that is in the DME. There might be manufacturer information in that information.

For reading this, Durametric might be of some value.

Another way would be to take the car to a dealer and ask if there is a way to query the car for the make/model/version number of the firmware or to determine if the firmware has been altered.

There is some way for this was required at some point when a car came in for warranty work to confirm the DME image was intact and not altered which would have voided the engine warranty.

'course, you'll probably have to pay for (WAG) an hour's labor for this DME query business.

nigelhenry - wow you need to do your homework. You think just turning up the boost is a great thing! How much time you have in a TT? The K16s are the smallest turbo, and you are asking for trouble and will need a fat wallet. K16s idealy shouldn't boost beyond 1 bar. The X50 have larger turbos and can handle the 1.2. BTW as you turn up the boost you need to consider the fuel volume. After a certain point you have to change the injectors!

I am not sure if I am at 1.0 bar or 1.2 bar.

Is it possible for it to jump up to 1.2 bar when the clutch starts to slip?

I did a couple pulls this morning, no slip, 1.0 bar.
