I swung by the dealer today to have my friend and shop foreman download the DME report. He had to do it fast (and we got busted by the Svc Manager anyway), and so I will pick it up on Weds. He did call me later in the afternoon to tell me that he had a chance to look at it and it had just a few Type 2 revs (good news) from a long time ago, BUT it has an error on the bi-xenons.

He says it's just a potentiometer on the front right, and an easy fix. Anybody know what part number this is? I'd like to look into it, now my curiosity is piqued

Most of the searches I found on here were from folks retrofitting them.

Thanks! Two interested parties are telling me I'm too high. If I'm too high, I'll just keep it.

personally i may not be willing to pay your price(since i just bot a really nice 2003 upgraded white C4S for half that amount, and my wife would kill me if i tried to upgrade now, lol), but just like a house, it doesn't matter what an agent or zillow thinks it's worth - it's worthy what a buyer is willing to pay.

therefore, you should stick with your guns. after all, your biggest downside is you get to keep enjoying your car

Sad to see you sell it as she is a beauty. Its very well sorted and I can see you getting close to that price. I too love the white console and seat backs. Just sharp. I would go backwards to 993 or otherwise before going to 997. I liked the 997TT when I almost bought one, but it felt too refined for me. Seemed more fun to own a pcar that was a bit more unpredictable. Keep us posted and GLWS!

In other words: Two Low Ballers. The car is priced very fairly and you won't be keeping it as someone who recognizes the value will come along.

Its hard to get what's something worth but that said I wouldn't budge too much as your car is exceptional. My father always warned me its easier to buy then sell lol.

I'm in a sales mode these days. I sold my Mustang project yesterday too. I just haven't had time to devote to it, and my priorities (6 and 3 and a lot more fun) have changed. I'm still glad I know how to do all of that work, but making time away from the family to grind welds and spray paint isn't really a priority anymore.

Unless the "interested party" made a firm offer to purchase in response to list price (i.e. started negotiations), then they are just interested in you negotiating against yourself by lowering the ask.

GLWS - its a nice looking ride.

Scott,

I told you earlier I just purchased mine down in Cinci a few months ago and the seller was in the same boat you are in. He was getting offers from the "low ballers" trying to tell him he was to high. I came along seeing that it was a 2004 in great shape all around with a no stories history. All of those things plus the seller being great to deal with was too much to pass up. Same case for you, respectable price, excellent car from the look of it. There is a buyer out there drooling for the car, just have to find that person.

The 996 and 996tt prices tanked in the last couple years but seem to be levelling a bit. I put mine up for sale in Canada and got a couple respectable offers (over 50k$can).

The thing is, many cars are in bad shape, accidented or have high mileage. Yet, people expect that a low mile, no history car in good shape should sell for the same price. I've seen many good condition 996tt go for sale in the low 50k$ and I think that's the right price.

Low ballers can just get their hands on the high mileage/damaged cars or cars with bad history if they want to get one cheap. Stick to your guns. Personnally, just like you, I'd rather keep it than sell for too cheap. These cars are amazing and with a reflash and exhaust, about as quick as the brand new 991turbo.
