The car is rear heavy so it might as well be up front lol as mentioned can always buy lighter battery.

Whoa. Chill dude. The battery is in a very good location. When I have to remove a battery is just stand in the car's trunk.

He's got a point...I'm surprised Porsche didn't mount it lower in the first place as well. A lighter battery helps though.

I have no issues with the battery in terms with its vertical or longitudinal placement. My Turbo's chassis response and handling is very good, and is way better than what public roads can handle when the car is driven in a less than" go to jail" speeds and aggressiveness.

I wonder if there is any data on the COG and what affect moving a battery will have on it. You would think that Porsche engineers understand something about COG even if it is just theoretical. Reducing weight up front is the last thing I want...the front is already too light in comparison with the rear.

Mount the battery lower and it interferes with the heater/AC system. That's heavier than a battery.

Or the fuel tank gets mounted higher or more fuel gets stored higher and there's less fuel capacity.

You guys have to give Porsche some credit for knowing something about cars.

Geez.

I think they know but they realize it is a street car and 98% of people operate their car like Dock. i.e. they don't drive the car hard enough to see a need or tell a difference.

That said, 35lbs is 35lbs.... I have managed to get my car down to 3190 by being diligent in losing weight out of the car. Every bit counts as it adds up.

My guess is that the battery is where it is because of the front differential and the fuel tank; there isn't any room lower in the car.

I think the best way for me to shave some pounds is to get my fat **** into the gym.

Agreed. Health wize it is very good for you too... this driver is about 160 or less, so not much to do in this driver mod.
