A couple of shops have recommend to me leaving the spare, jack, etc. up front for the reason above.

Plus, the spare comes in handy when you have a flat tire.

Weight loss is good. You can easily "tune" out the lost weight from the front via adjustments to your sways, ride height, alignment changes, adding rake, etc. Unless you have a bone stock chassis, it's easy to do...

True My post was in reference to removing the spare and other related items before corner balancing and track days.

Then where would you put the spare?

The Porsche space saver spare would not work on my car and as such my car has the Porsche foam tray that contains the air compressor and the bottle of sealant located in the same area as the spare normally occupies. The tray has a large storage area in the front portion of it that could easily be cut out and a battery mounted there if you got a little creative.

Yes, that's a problem with >18" wheels on a Turbo.

For those that have 18" wheels, and whose Turbo is not primarily a track car, I think having a spare is maybe more important than having a battery strapped/bolted to the floor of the front trunk where the spare used to be.

I don't track my Turbo (it has OEM wheels), and I drive it on road trips. So a spare is way important to me. I have had a rear tire go flat (it couldn't be temp repaired with a "tire fix" product), and the spare saved me a lot of time and hassle.

Lol!

If I recall correctly none of the GT cars have inflatable spares and neither do any of the new 997/991 991s...

I agree the battery should be placed in that area down low..

Do you really take your car on road trips ? I though you had less then 10,000 miles on your car and you are the original owner...

And that makes not having a spare a good idea?

Regarding the mileage, you must be thinking about someone else.

I am however the original owner.

I have to agree with dock while not optimum the space saver is better then nothing, but will an 18 inch wheel fit in frunk? I would call AAA or wife and take tire to get replaced or repaired if at all possible. Curious though if dock enjoys bantering with you guys as much as you seem to like pushing his buttons lol?

That's a bit of a hassle if you have a flat way up in the North Georgia mountains at 6 PM on a Sunday evening.

You are assuming that someone can actually push my buttons.
