Default oil sending unit

I got a failure indicator warning. I cleared it with the stock, it comes and goes . I am having a new sending unit installed Tuesday. Part Number 99660620302. I believe this part sends info to the needle on the gage cluster.

That's the correct PN for the sender.

If you drop the motor just slightly it makes replacing the unit pretty easy.

thanks , I wish I could learn , because its a 90.00 part and dealer wants 3.5 hours labour. Just not mechanical.

3.5 hours? Ouch. Actual work doesn't take more than an hour.

You can get the part for $56 and have an indy do it for 2 hours labor max. Dealers are ridiculous with their pricing and time.

What are your symptoms? Does your oil pressure gauge peg to max?

Indy is smart , former Porsche dealership mechanic, charges just about the same. I checked.

oil pressure gauge will go to max then suddenly drop to zero. failure indicator goes on. I can clear it with the stalk. it is intermittent. positive this is the issue based upon other owners who have had exactly the same issue.

That's what I figured. I think mine is on it's way out now. Only once in a while it will flake out on me.

Same thing happened to me, sending unit would flake out every once in a while; bought a new one; waited six months and then replaced at same time as other work. Save on labor cost.

I just had it done. Indie 2 hours labor. Total no more than $300. If you go to the stealer bring along some hemorrhoidal ointment to ease the discomfort.
