Default Signed up for my first DE in the Turbo

Going to Putnam Park Road Course June 7-9th. Anyone else going?
Going to change brake fluid and bring a second set of pads / rotors as mine are getting low.

This will be a great way to finish off my PS2's !

Just my opinion, but I would install the new pads and rotors before the DE. The stakes are too high to try to eke out the last bit of life on your old pads /rotors. Have a great time.

My Porsche tech will be at the track doing support and he said he can swap me out between sessions if needed. I will take it easy and he can change them out Saturday night if needed

That's good though I doubt you'll ever need to change pads or finish your tires off in your first DE.

I think I might have asked you about the shop before but would you like to share the shop/Tech info again?

Thanks

Always be aware that when braking hard, "ice mode pedal" can strike at any time, do a search. Know where you can safely run off in high speed braking zones or you could pay a high price. The turbo is no joke, and you don't want to be caught out.

Your instructor may also suggest this: Drive your first day (or at least your first two sessions) in one gear higher than needed for a fastest lap. Valid for any high-powered car, especially a turbo.

Does your auto insurance cover DE events?

Good idea, also leaving it in one gear to focus on the driving line, turn in points. and braking. Lots to think about your first day. Relax and have fun. Going to the track is like crack once you start it's a slippery slope

I don't think any "normal" auto insurance will cover you at any track event....

I assume not. I will not be calling my agent to ask though !

I drove Putnam in 2010 in my BoxsterS and went solo my last day there. I will not be going crazy and I fully expect to stay in the green run group.

Brian from foreign affairs is my tech and his brother Scott details my cars.

come to think of it that is what my instructor had me do with my BoxsterS when I did the last event. it was very helpful

Just remember to lift when you give a point by (or at least don't mash it :-)

Your straight line speed will be "impressive" to say the least.

Had a great time at Putnam ! KYPCA knows how to have a DE and BlueGrass Porsche was a great sponsor.
I was signed off for Solo after 2 sessions on Saturday and even running the stock software I was getting up to 130 before turn 1.
I downloaded "Harrys Lap Timer" for my iPhone and used it for one session. my best lap was 1:26.9
Great app but it used so much data that I could not use it on another session.
