Default 350mm 2pc front rotors.

I currently run the Cayenne S front rotors, they weight a massive 28lbs. A friend of mine, Porka installed some light weight wheels on his 997c2s and he told me the massive difference he could feel with the lighter wheels. He typically dosen't BS, so he lend me his car to drive, and wow what it difference it made in front steering response, and car felt more responsive. Given it does not have the power of our turbo cars, weight off the drive train on those cars you can totally feel the net gain.

so I embark on making some 2pc rotors for the fronts. The rears are to come soon. These look so sweet, came in at weight of 17.2 lbs. Hardware will add .15lb, so total net wieght of 17.35, a net loss of 10.7lbs off each front corner!

Of course directional vented the rotors as well. Net cost of replacement each front rotor is $175.15 each ! I made them with no drilled holes on the rotors, to avoid spider web cracks, so i'm hoping they last much longer too

175 per rotor, not including hat . The hardware is going to be 8.8 grade steel bolts and nuts. The other questions not sure, I got the rings made by Coleman racing. The hat, I had one be reversed engineered localy as one was stolen, originally an ap racing hat. Anodized locally as we'll.

Here is the final weight. This is using locking nuts, 25mm hex screws ( I will do 20 mm next time to help reduce a bit more weight), locking washer. All hardware is Grade8.8 steel. When I go to 20mm length screws next time hopefully reduce to 17.5 weight each!

Is there any concern about the small edge margin of the hats?

Craig, are you talking on the backside of the hat ? It is for hot air venting out.
A lot of race shops whom use them really like them.
