The Rebuild of a 996 Turbo
Long story short, I was t-boned on the drivers side two months ago and this what she looks like naked. I'm glad it wasn't my fault, the 20k repair bill is nuts and glad she is getting fixed. Driving a rental car and not having your baby for the summer is painful

I got rear ended in my TT 9 days after I got her. The repair bill was 27k. Took about 3 months to get it all done. I was so tired of a rental by then. I feel your pain.

You might also want to pursue diminished value claim while you're at it for an accident of that magnitute that was someone else's fault.

how's the frame damage? are they going to paint the whole car? $20k seems like they'll just paint the left side. i've been quoted $10-18k for a complete respray. the pics looks great. what kind of white angle lens did you use?

man, those are painful pics. that sucks. i hope this doesn't make your car a salvage title. when i was hit, i sweated bullets waiting to find out whether my car would be "totalled" or repaired. thankfully it was deemed a loss. i don't like the look of frame straighteners. or i should say, porsche turbo's on them.
good luck with it.
good luck with it.

Scawt,
For such a major fix I'm very interested in your opinion about the shop after all is said and done. If you are fully satisfied with their work I think it would be good to know.
Sorry about the situation.

did you use a fish eye lens for those shots? the lines look distorted. looks like they are fixing it prorperly. were yo injured?
Is that your spare tire on the front?
did you check to see if the accident caused the coolant pipes to leak? maybe insurance will cover that and perhaps a clutch and/or flywheel?
