Performance mods for HP gains on an 03' TT, 10k budget
Greetings experts,
My brother is the original owner of an 03' TT with 20k miles on it and the car is bone stock as the day it left the factory.
He likes to make some performance mods to increase HP to the car and myself being a total newby would like to enlist your help and feedback in which of the following would give him the most bang for his 10k mod budget out there door.
He's indicated he wants a short shifter kit, software tune like EvomSit, and definitely wants an exhaust like Tubi or Cargraphics. He likes to have an enhanced louder sound from stock, however, not so loud to wake up the neighbors or have cabin and resonance noise issues.
Anything else goes and is much appreciated. I've perused some of the Power Kits offered by Sharkwerks in their website and think the stage two looks within his budget to bring the car to around 550 HP from stock. but not knowing much about the TT cars and mods as listed in the power kits, I would very much appreciate everyone's feedback especially where real world performance gains have been experienced through what you have done.
Ideally we would like to bring the car into Sharkwerks for the work as I've great experience working with them before. Now it's just a matter of deciding what to do and put into the car.
Many thanks guys!

Sorry I have been busy and I have not been ignoring your PM. I will give you a little further info in a bit if you need.
How much faster compared to stock?
Stock to the full EPL Billet K16 kit with GOOD flowing exhaust you are in a completely stratosphere of performance.....as in pulling a 2013 911 GT2's (they have about 620bhp) A 911 996 Turbo k16 stock runs about 115mph through the quarter. My car has pulled a 2012 Corvette ZR1 (they trap 126-129) by at least 3-4cars and pulling a friends 620RWHP 11 Mustang that pulls 132mph trap speed in the 1/4 mile I was pulling him my 1.5 cars my top of 4th (2 to 4th gear pull). Based on my runs and weight calculation I should be around 660-670bhp from the stock 420bhp.
I have some runs on video that I ran my uncles X50 (he has a 1bar tune, modified stock exhaust & air box) with my set up if you want to see the different runs being we had about 6 runs let me know and I can email you the runs. This run was from lower RPM 3rd gear pull:
Bottom line for the money you can not beat this kit with an addition of good flowing exhaust, clutch that can hold the power!! $4400 for the kit $2500 for a Speedtech 3" X exhaust, $2500 for UMW stg 3 LWFW set up and $2000 to install. So $11 400 or you can get this amount down with a used exhaust, sourcing out turbo from AMS, purchase injectors separate and pay $1400 for EPL's tune...you can get those numbers down to about $10K. So for 420bhp to 650-670bhp for $10-11500 worth it using most stock reliable parts is the question.
To me the above set up is the only reason I purchase this car over my other options, being the car was under powered for what I was looking at and any real HP they wanted 25K+ WITHOUT CLUTCH AND LABOR!
Hope the above helps!

At the end of the day I do not care for just dyno sheet etc (even though they are useful for before and after on the same dyno etc), but can tell you my real life street experiences with very fast cars and with guys that know how to drive and have been in the "game" for long time.
This set up pulled a 132trap Mustang that has been in the game for along time, when he shift it sounds like a PDK, no slippage as he was on drag radials and he knows how to get the most out of his car!
Again hope the above helps!
Thanks

I was under the impression that the forums was supposed to be where we Shared information, especially our own real life facts. I posted my response to help with the ORIGINAL question of what can be done for 10k. Being that was my "power" budget before I purchased my 911, have completed much research and been through it with real life results.....I just thought that was fair to share my experience in direct response to his question on a forums.
Most that have responded negatively still has yet to contribute to any direct helpful answers to the thread question.
To the ORIGINAL thread starter, I hope my response helped with your original question and if it didn't I apologize for taking room up on your thread. If you have any questions concerning my set up I would feel free the share that with you as that is the meaning of a dedicated forums.
Sincerely,
Bobby Ali

Instead of deferring to the search button or to some link, you taking the time to write was very helpful.

the above referenced and aptly noted sanctimoniousness is probably why there are like 9 people here. like it's the shriners or something lol. i think you got more help over on 6spd. wonder why.
