Why are 993 so much more expensive than 996?

As far as I am concerned the 993 is the finale evolution of the air colled. The 996 is the first of the water cooled - true revolution. The 997, 991 and beyond history will recognise as a mere face lifted 911's - not a revolution but evolution. This will stand until the all electric, or all nuclear powered revolution model comes along! :-). Off to get my pop-corn now! Ha ha ha.

Totally agree. Two types of Porsche owners... Air cooled and Water cooled. The 993 is the "last of the the Mohicans" so to speak, as such the value is higher. If your not an old school Porsche enthusiast this doesn't matter to you and water cooled it is.

I have zero interest in oil cooled, they are slow and a pain to maintain.. read: zero value to me and yes I can afford one.
