I found the interior of my 997 S to be more business-like, focused. Man-cavish! Yes, man-cavish!!
The interior of my 996 Turbo seems luxuriously focused on an evening of good wines, superb Vicyssoise, and a deep goodnight kiss.
Either scenario is awesome in my opinion!
PS. The picture is big so Dock can see it.

Yea, that works except for those that are working from a lap top/pad screen and can't see anything but a corner of the picture you post...
You're welcome...it's handy on this forum too.

As a nod to my valued, if reluctant mentor Dock, a pic from tinypic..........

My only complaint is that my car came with a carbon fiber interior from the factory and by the time it was 8 years old most of the pieces changed color, faded, and the steering wheel finish cracked. I think the epoxies used now are better but the '01 was really bad so avoid that if you can. Otherwise it is great, especially the stock seat backs are covered with leather in the instead of paint, to me the paint is the worst idea for the seat backs if you actually use your car and carry stuff back there. My friends 997 is all scratched because of this and my old seat backs look like new and I use it as an all year round daily driver. I did change the seats for track use recently but otherwise they look new.

+1 on the ugly 997 steering wheel. Reminds me of the bumper cars down at Seaside Heights. When test drivings some 996's and 997's, I remarked to the sales guy how the 996 had a better looking dash. He looked at me like as if to say that newer is always better.

The rest of the CF does look good though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but...is it just me or has Porsche come out with some odd (as in 'I would not want that') interior colors over the years?

I think it's just because Porsche offers so many different color options. Of course someone could also order anything they want (color wise) through the Exclusive Department.
