great idea, Don. I swapped out my 996 shifter for a 997 shifter last year and really like it. smoooooth

Ditto here - took the 996 standard turbo shifter out and put in a new 997 standard turbo shifter - just enough of a difference to make it awesome!!

Did or had done something similar when my 03 Turbo shifter broke. Tech fitted a shifter from the 997 and the 997 shifter's improved feel was awesome.
