Default Shift **** Loose?

Just picked up a 2002 SY 996TT. Still in the process of driving it back home across the country. It's equipped with a B&M SS and has the carbon 996 shift **** on it. The **** is able to be pulled vertically up and down 4-5mm in any gear and neutral. I popped up the trim/boot and wanted to see if the B&M was loose or just the **** - the B&M appears to be tight with no play so is there some trick to tightening down the ****?

Makes precise shifts pretty hard/difficult especially when manhandling the B&M.

Thanks for your help!

There's an Allen bolt on the back of the base of the ****. Tighten it and it should be fixed.

Just wanted to mention that this was indeed the case and remedied the issue. Thank you for your help!
