Correct

Be careful or you will start a debate over what are acceptable numbers in each range. It is a fractious issue, second only to abortion and birth control..

One doesn't matter and the other one matters depending upon your stance on gay marriage...

Basically, rev 1 occurs when you hit the rev limiter on the way up, rev 2 registers when you hit a lower gear then planned, e.g., overreving when shifting from 5th to 4th but hitting 2nd.

That's what I was thinking...but kept quite... " could do it, but wouldn't be prudent at this juncture"

I am pretty sure I picked up a few range 1s on my car. It had very few when I bought it, and a minute # of range 2. I am sure I have not hit range 2s, but it is easy to swing a little past 6500 on spirited shifts.

Been debated many, many times...there are type II's in tiptronic cars, explain that with an accidental shift from 5th to 2nd.

Consensus was, If it's a small number particularly long ago it shouldn't be a concern.

Been mentioned many times. If your flash has raised the rev limiter to say 7000 rpm, you will get type 2s. A mis shift is not necessarily the cause. I have amny type 1 and type 2s as I track car. I do oil analysis and compression test frequently and both are perfect.

True or false - Rennlist has a search feature?

BTW - what type of oil are you using?

I have actually been running a synthetic dyno oil. However I usually top up with TDT or Rotella. Thank goodness I pulled C4 during the last change as I think this greatly reduces the damage of type 2 over revs.
