i had the 'screen replaced last week on my 2005 996 TT. The pick shows the glass the way it looks now. I think there is a piece missing....I never remember the edge of the glass just sitting there. my buddy across the street has a 996 GT2, and his screen has another piece around the glass so that you don't have the edge of the glass showing.....any help, is this just me?

 

Just looked at my '04 and there is a black, either hard plastic or metal trim less than 1/4" around the outer perimeter of the glass. This trim is inside the rubber gasket seal shown in your pic. Looks to be missing.
