I was inches away from importing to Canada when a local car that I had made an offer on came back to me with a deal I couldn't refuse. It happened to be and 01, and I couldn't be happier, but that 05 tts gt silver is one nice car. By the way it had an fvd tune and exhaust at the time I saw it. Difference at the time was $25k and I new I might be modding
It was at Park Place last Fall.

I saw an 01 turbo for 28k on ebay about 6 weeks ago. Possible blown motor, super high miles, and very worn looking. Miles aren't bad on these as they are bullet proof but a blown motor and a worn exterior\interior makes those lower end cars more prohibitive in the long run then a well kept car. Who wants to spend close to $30k on a total POS? There is a great 01 on 6Speed for $38k in cali (Silver, low 60's mileage, and mods).

Is the TTS a coupe? If so, that's a really rare car.

Ultimately, it's a judgement call, but IMHO the TTS is worth the difference if you can swing it. Keep in mind, though, that when the 991 turbo is released, you'll probably be able to pick up an early 997.1TT for similar coin, if that matters to you (i.e. the perpetual "buy now vs. buy later" dilemma).

Skip tip. Why buy a less than comfortable Porsche sports car if you don't even want to row your own gears? I know there are a lot of chicktronic owners out there, but for me I'd leave the autoboxes for pure luxury vehicles.

Noticed that the 2005 has "H&R springs." Do a search here on replacing just the springs.

If it checks out, $57K would be a very good price. IT just depends on whether you can live with the Tip.
