Default PCM questions

Hi all,

I am about to start trying to understand all that my PCM can do for me. The basics first though - my car is a 2003 996tt. I pressed the buttons to bring up software versions and it has 3.0 next to the PCM and 3.0 next to the software labels. I have assumed my PCM is 2 - does this just mean my software is 3.0 on a PCM 2 system? Is that the latest?
Can I download the maps or do I need to pay $300 for the cds?

Thanks, Ben

You have to buy the CDs. 2008 is the latest revision. About $350 US, but you might be able to find them on eBay for less.

I'm afraid I can't answer yor other questions as I'm not in the same city as my car right now, but will look next week if you don't have an answer. Ping me Monday is you need me to look at my car.

PCM2 is different from the software version. I believe the current software is 3.x. You must buy the cds, check with Sunset Porsche (get a discount going through RennTech.org)

Thanks for the tips guys. I also need to RTFM at least twice.
