a great deal has to do with your attitude. first thing you want the leo to know is you are not a threat. Hands in plain view on steering wheel. night time, hit the inside lights first, then the hands on the wheel. be respectful. ask every time if you can move. if registration is in glove box, tell him u r going to open the glove box. don't try to make friends with him, but be nice, acknowledge the errors of your ways. I have been hit as high as 91 here in Idaho in a 75 and this routine works almost every time. Only time it failed is when i opened the glove box on my 550i and a Glock 31 fell out on to the floor. Not good.

Eh, there are police with a sense of humor and others without.
North of Flagstaff in 2010, met one who had a sense of humor and gave me a "wasting resources" $60 ticket vs. who knows how much for what I was really (cough) allegedly (cough) doing.
When I lived in the SF Bay Area, CHP seemed to be rather professional. Didn't stop them from writing me up a few times. They also let me get away with things on a motorcycle I suspect other states wouldn't allow. CA is a strange place in so many ways, both good and bad. Times change, too, due to economic conditions and other factors.
To that end, closer to my current home and some years ago the WA Staties went on a binge to write tickets. The Commandant handed it down thus. So it was written, so it was done. They were everywhere. Might have been a 9/11 thing. They still seem more ubiquitous than Staties in other states.
Anymore, though, I don't know how they are. Couple minor run-ins with them have been uneventful (= no real evidence anything happened). They do write a lot of tickets on the two major arterials in Seattle (Interstates 90 and 405), an assumption based on the number of bikes and cars seen pulled over every day during commute slog.
Otherwise, eh: I'm not beyond doing-same on DESERTED stretches of freeway, in both new (to me) 996TT and across many years of motorcycling. Might have (cough) allegedly done just that (cough cough) yesterday on a fun left elevated and sweeping onramp...no one was harmed.
Try that malarkey in greater Seattle traffic, though, bike or car, the white sharks (my phase for the white w/black Crown Vics favored by WA State Patrol) will find you. Fast. And call in helicopters (they have lots).

Houston cops have been good to me - the "100 Lifetime Membership" doesn't hurt. I got stopped on an open streatch near my house that has NO intersections but marked 30. He stopped me for 47. I said "I thought it was a 35" to which he replied "That's STILL 12 over! Get out of here!" The new 997.2 TT hasthe laser shift thing built in (Passport), and, YES, it works!
Another nice curve in Houston is BW 8 south on to 59 S. Unfortunately, there is usually too much traffic.

My experience with laser diffusers is positive
Had the Passport in my former TT, and it worked as stated earlier
I am shopping for another 996TT, and in preparation already have purchased the Laser Interceptor 4 HP
These do work, but still need to be aware of overhead surveillance and radar.

I just talked to one of my business partners that has the Passport system installed in his new 650. He said he had to turn the diffusers off because there is a new law in Texas that make their use a Class C misdemeanor.
Apparently he was pulled over because the officer couldn't get a lock on him. He wasn't even speeding. When he found the diffusers, he cited him.
It sounds like they work well though.

Good story. You do know that when the officer asked you "so how fast were you going?" (with the other officer listening in), if you said "110" he probaby would have cited you. I learned as a young man that if you admit to a speed over the limit, they will testify to that in court.
The correct answer to the question "how fast were you going" is always "pretty close to the speed limit..."

The Laser Interceptor has the ability, with the flip of an optional switch, to act as parking assist only
can also be set up to jam for a limited time - allowing you to slow down, then stop jamming, and allow them to get a lock on you
