Default Price check - 996TT with 46k miles

black/black manual in really great condition. They want 42 but I think I can get it for 41k.

I still need to drive it and have it inspected. I've started looking because I get tired of the IMS issue.

Drive the car, inspect it very carefully, get it up on a lift so you can look under it. Look at the stack of service records and receipts, make sure all the tools, spare, and pump is there. Check manual and book packet and make sure you get 2 remote and a valet key. If all is good have a PPI done.

After you have decided you would buy the car without reservations, it's time to think about how much to pay and what the seller will take. Before that, not knowing exactly what you are buying and the seller not having a committed buyer, talking price is a total waste of time, it's just conversation.

Too many people are trying to buy a "PRICE", then they are hoping the car fill all the requirements and fit into the price. They have it all backwards. Keep it simple;-)

GL with finding your car.

you need to see the DME readout as well. Nick makes the best piece of advice that you can have, CHECK it out. These cars, especialy the turbos, can cost significant amounts of money to fix. A slipping clutch on that car will cost you $3500.00. Turbochargers for each bank can cost $3400 each, just for the parts. It is critical that you check out the 996 before pulling the trigger. A couple of guides exist to help, but the reality is, nothing can substitute a through check from a knowledgable Porsche wrench turner. Although I ended up not using it, I hear a lot of people like to use the Porsche 911 996 buyers guide by Adrian Crawford. Another source I did use a lot was Porsche 996 THE essential Companion by Adrian Streather (I guess you have to be named Adrian to be an authority on the 996.) This last book is an incredible source of information, and really, for most of us, it is a little overkill.

Turbosjedi, you're paying way too much for parts or labor. I looked for a bit before I bought my '02 TT, you're in the ballpark for sure.
