I am a fan of the bbs e88 but with our semi ****ty roads plus the price tag difference makes it hard to justify. The weigh is pretty much the same, ccw is in FL so repair would be easy. Still on the fence.

A problem with CCW Classics is that if you have big brakes (GT2/GT3) you need something like a 9.5" front wheel and use spacers or the wheel must be assembled with a certain way or something like that...
Plus, the one-piece CCW's are much more durable and the company itself recommends them for track-use, not Classics, if you speak directly with them.
So in this perspective BBS E88 could be a better option (albeit a lot more pricier
) if you want a classic-looking lightweight 3-piece wheel.
However, the BBS E88's might leak...but I believe you can just add silicone to the rim halves and tighten the valve stems and be done with it.
Let us know how you proceed! (PM me if I should get a similar set and we could get a lower pricing
)
Buying a proper set for a 996TT is not that easy. I would go for a 9" front and 11" (not 12") rear. In that case you can run 235-265 front and 295-315 in rear. If you go with a 12" rear, you cannot run the car with 295 MPSC (they don't make wider ones anymore), which is currently still the fastest 'street driveable' tire on a dry circuit...
Btw. if you go custom, get some nice low offsets, I recommend 11" ET25 or 12" ET38 for a wide stance
(that's +20mm wider than stock)

not sure about the ccw classics being bad for the track
had a set of mag BBSs and CCW classics that I alternated on my RSA when I was racing
beat the crap out of both, no problems with either
car was sig lighter than a 996TT though

John @ CCW emailed me a year ago with this information regarding to the brake fitment (I believe he's talking about the larger GT2/GT3 brakes here):
"in order for classics to clear the 996t front brakes they have to be at least 9.5" wide up front
and either have to be assembled in the non standard way with the center coming in from behind the rim shells or will have to run with a 1/2" spacer if assembled in the standard configurations with the rim shells behind the wheel center"

i have regular brakes so I dont have to worry
fly2low my car is 3150lbs wet so i am pretty darn lite![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
kaizu yeah I'd imagine bbs being right there is a big plus same as ccw being right here, 9.5" fronts are no problem. My friend has them and no rub on front
