Default Has anyone installed H&R springs themselves?

Thinking about doing this myself. I have done it on other cars and I have a spring compressor tool but was wondered if anyone here had done it themselves. I can see clearly how to do the rears but had a question about the fronts.

Do I need to completely remove the front struts from the car and then remove the spring?

Or is there enough clearance to swing just the top of the strut out from under the wheel well when the sway bar is detached but with the bottom of the strut still attached to the suspension?

thanks,

Save your pennies and purchase the factory X73 option or a set of PSS9 or PSS10..

The lowering springs really botch the dampers. Original dampers, and lowering springs push the limits of operation and desired results.

BTW, you cannot swing the struts out to clear the fenders.

I have to agree with Kevin, i tried the H&R springs and boy i hated it, the car felt so dangerous.

I installed H&R springs on my nsx and my rx-7 before and i was extremely satisfied so it is not like i don't recommend it ever. But for the 996tt, it just didn't work out.

Ditto. I went with the X73 and have zero regrets. The rear and the motor mounts are a DIY. The front requires a lot of disassembly with the AWD so I had an Indy do them.
