03 X50 vs 04 non-X50 same price same mileage
Same price same mileage. The 04 non-X50 has more options (nav) and better suspension (PSS9 vs H&R springs). All else pretty much the same.
I will have a reflash down the line.
What would you buy? And why?

Drifting
I've driven both and found the stock to accelerate quicker from a lower RPM. The X50 seems to have a lag and not spool up as quick. Wondering how you can say stock is unimpressive? I have found stock to actually be more impressive than an unmodded X-50.
Why are stock and X-50 0-62 MPH times listed as the same, at 4.2 seconds in the factory owners manual if the x-50 feels so much faster?

Standard turbo versus X-50 turbo
The smaller turbo spools up around 4-500 rpm faster than the X-50 with the larger K-24 turbos, however, when the X-50 kicks-in, it clearly overtakes the standard turbo. This is VERY noticeable on the track; not many of us do the 0-60 stuff, which is used to "sell" cars.

Depends on the way the car will be used. New waste gate, ecu tune, and exhaust and you'll have a new car with the X50 car. Add hybrid turbos, tune, and exhaust and you'll have a new car over the non X50 car. Either way can't lose.

Go with the X-50
The original question is "Same price same mileage. The 04 non-X50 has more options (nav) and better suspension (PSS9 vs H&R springs). All else pretty much the same.

Except for the suspension on the non X-50 (that is more desireable than stock), One will get far more bang out-of-the-box with the X-50 (other years known as the Turbo S). The X-50, with the same guts as the GT2, can be pumped up more than the turbo with far less $$$.
