My reverse lights are not working. Checked fuse (B5), checked bulbs, what to check next?

The car has manual gear box.

This switch went out in my N/A 996. I removed and replaced the switch and the lights worked again. I looked at the faulty switch and even checked it with a meter. I worked fine as well. Apparently they get a bit sticky. Removing the switch and cleaning the plunger and giving it a light lube may restore yours to working condition.

Bumping this thread as I have this issue and am looking for ideas on how to track it down. The turbo cars apparently do not have the reverse switch on the side of the trans. Thoughts...

Yes they have. I had mine replaced by an indie. Swich was inexpensive and it was a quick job to replace.
