Want to give a big thanks to Kevin at UMW. His stage 1 kit has transformed my '01 TT. When I purchased her, she had a very bad stutter, after checking fuelpump, coils, plugs we still could not located the problem. However it turns out the previous owner had a flash on her and when he sold it he reflashed it to "stock". After loading Kevins data though everything was perfect. The throttle is much more precise, and the extra power in incredible. Also after running at Road Atlanta this weekend I saw 3 seconds come off my lap times (I had also switched to pagid r 14 pads). I am very happy with this product and would recomend it to anyone who owns one of these cars.

Douglas, Thanks for the kind words..
I have a request... You were actually one of my first cross-county customers that were able to flash there car with my new Data-logging cable. Can you tell "us" Rennlisters how the process was. From memory we talked on Friday or Monday and sent, flashed your car to get you on the track by the weekend..

Did you flash only or did you also change to Kevin's wastegates? Kevin, I believe you have said in the past that you recommend changing them along with the flash?

Kevin, you're a member and site sponsor, so speak freely.
Mind telling us what you'd recommend for my '04 Turbo Cab, non x50? It's a 6 speed, 100% stock. I may want to mod the ECU to deliver more boost, possibly increase rpms a tad and improve throttle response. I do most of my driving at about 5000' and can't get better than 91 octane fuel
I never plan to track it, I don't plan to do any more motor performance or exhaust mods. I've modded most everything I've ever owned, and spent years racing, living in motorhomes on weekends, so I can say that with some degree of certainty.
Thanks!

Adam is correct. I don't recommend the wastegate kit on a stock K16's.. Larger K16 hybrids are the exceptions. On the X50 it is a welcome modification. Is it "required" to have the wastegate mod on a X50 to get the flash.. The answer is NO.. With my "opinion" I think that you would be missing out on alot of torque that is just getting flushed out your tailpipe. This is where one could post the links to fellow Rennlister that have done the wastegate mod. Adam has done it, and many others.
Nick, a simple flash for $975.00 will give you what you have asked and more.. I would recommend my wastegate kit, but if you do NOT want to touch the actuators it is understandable.

so here's the story: After waiting 3 days and missing 1 mailman, I was finally able to pick up the data logging cable from the post office. Once I got it I made sure that everything was up to date on my computer and unziped the software he had sent me. After this I was able to plug my Data logger into car and the computer. I then "read" a copy of my ECU and emailed it back out to Kevin. After a couple more days I received a new tune from him, reconnected the data logger to the car restarted the software and click "write ECU" less than 90 seconds latter my car was a beast.
Kevin- I was not able to log any data this weekend due to disagreements between my computer and the 100 degree heat at the Road Atlanta this weekend. I will shoot you a file out soon though.

Yep, I was there, but my instructor told me to slow down on the back straight when I was around 130-ish. I really wasn't watching the speedometer...just enjoying my first time on the track.
My car was right across from the Chalet.
