Default Turbo for sale - why so inexpensive?

I have a 993. I was searching for other Porsche's for the fun of it and ran across this post. I'm not sure why it's so cheap. I thought I would post on this forum where there are more knowledgeable folks. Maybe it's a scam or someone here is aware of it because it's damaged. Please help me get it out of my mind!

My guess is it's a pricing error. If not then it's either fraud or there's something major that isn't mentioned in the ad. It wouldn't hurt to call the guy, right?

Scamtastic or Salvage. 02 Carreras are being sold close to that price. A non-salvage 02 will be sold in the 40s not 20s. Don't get lured by the pricing. If you are interested in a 996 Turbo we can help with pricing.

Mistake or worse. That mileage x50 is closer to $50k.

Just plain fraud. I have been trolling the cars.com GT3 for sale listings and have reported 4 outrageous listings. "I am deployed in Afghanistan, can't do the transaction in person, and my wife needs cancer treatments." Stuff like that. Sickening.

More likely than not, it's fraud. Some crook is looking for an inexperienced buyer to see this as the "deal of a lifetime." Then the buyer will jump in with both feet. When I was looking for my Turbo, I saw a couple of these. Selling way below market. The story is that they have no money, have to sell their favorite car (sniff, sniff) or will have to sell the house because they can't afford to keep both of them.

You won't be able to get a PPI at their location because the car is already "boxed up and ready for transport." But don't worry (they'll say) because you will be able to get it inspected at your favorite indy when they deliver the car to you. You pay upfront, but the shipper is going to hold your money in escrow, and you'll have 10 days to have a full inspection done. If it doesn't look to your satisfaction, the trucker will pick up the car, no questions asked, and bring it back to seller. You will get a full, immediate refund. That's the beauty of Google Checkout (they'll say.)

The old adage that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Tread carefully, and read this link Google Checkout Scam

It's a fraud. A similar ad has been flagged on eBay and here's another listing of the same car.

Anyone from New Hampshire that can "drop by to take a look"?

It would be interesting to hear the response to that offer.
