Mike, Where did you source the mesh that you used in that renntrack thread?

TIA

You can also get the Service manual from me if you PM me...

Just in case you needed it...GrillCustoms is the stuff we used for Landjet's and mine, along with my GT2s.

Mike
Have a link for the screens? I didn't find "grillcustoms" with a search.

I got mine here: http://customcargrills.com/ I even gave him a call because I didn't order enough...super nice guy.

He has great how to videos that easily explain different install options. I got TWO of the largest black powder coated sheets of this:
http://www.customcargrills.com/prodd...=Diamond_Small

If you like the stock fins - then I would zip tie attach to the radiator scoops or to the fins. Cut small hole for temp probe. I went with just the mesh grill - so I used adhesive to the bumper cover...zip tied the probe to the "scoop". Warning - you will see the metal bumper through the screen - I painted mine black to hide it.

Here are all my photos and show how I made it. http://s820.photobucket.com/albums/z...lle%20Install/

I zip tied them to the existing fins. Didn't need to paint or powder coat them - the mesh I bought was already black, so it went straight on.

Have to be careful not to make the center section too big - I spent a long time trying to figure out why my bumper wouldn't fit back on properly......

I clean my raditor areas about every 60 days or dependent on how much driving I do by not taking off the bumper but by using my air presure hose and a great tool that will get in the corners that I got from Groits Garage. I'll post the part number latter.

Dell It actually was from custom car grills... Sorry...seeing Canon's link above reminded me...

DaveK, the reason you don't want to ziptie them to the fins in your grills is they break over time... I did that on my "first" attempt at grills and learned the hard way. Running them through the rubber of the radiator ducts is the way to go without damaging anything... totally isolates them from the body work.

Cool, thanks Mike.

I'm going to run down to Lowe's and see what they have and then make a decision. I bought the material for the screens I made for the GT3 there.

BTW, your idea of attaching to the rubber conduits is brilliant! I'm going to make them that way. Hope to have them done by this weekend if Lowe's has what I need. If not I'll order what I need.

I removed my "fins" and glued them. If I had to do again...I might have done it Mikelly's way...a lot easier. Easier to remove if you want something different. Mine are pretty much stuck there forever.

Started to make the screens today and just wasn't happy with the way the progress was turning out. I bailed and decided to just clean them out every 6 months or so. I may revisit the idea at the next cleaning.

Ok, tough guy. Get your **** down here and help a brutha out. If you'll climb a fence for a dollar, I'm guessing this is easily worth $.50?

Doooooood!!!

How about this... I'll make cardboard copies of the screens I'm gonna give Gunther, then I'll send them to you, and you can order your customcargrill.com screens (powdercoated black of course) and trim them to match...

Works for me. Better yet, you can swing on down to my place (1 hour from the track) to help me make them before or after the May FSR event.

Guest room has a home theater attached (can watch the Monaco GP ), plenty of alcohol, good food and friends, climate controlled garage while we do the work. What else do you need???
