No kidding. We are getting hammered with snow right now. I think we will end up with 5 feet before Friday night. We've been getting 3"/hour for the past 8 hours!

It's going to be a pretty warm day here as well. Around 50-60 and some sun! I will probably go home early and wash my dd!

I'll be snow blowing and shoveling as well as trying to fix the passenger side wiper in my cayenne. It stopped working this morning as I was driving through this raging blizzard. Perfect timing!

Central Indiana.

68 and sunny. And I found a new commute to work: 12 miles, tail of the dragon style turns. Life is good.

To get back on topic. It sounds like the v12 is a good tire for DD and might be a stiffer sidewall for track duty too. The sumi is good and once you get it set up, it very predictable on track. Either of these tires is plenty fun....not an R comp, but if you don't race and don't do serious high end stuff, perhaps they are all the fun we need at a great price.

I am leaning to getting advan ad08 for DE (keeping them warm), but the v12 is tempting...sounds like

Larry, I'd get 4 new tires. V12s probably and save the AD08's.

Check the used YOKO's out carefully, perhaps at a YOKO dealer you trust.....they might not be able to say it is ok no matter what due to liability issues.

Save them in a warm place....get some rears when you are up to it and voila, you have 4 DE tires...the set will likely all wear out at the same time now.

If you see cracks... I'd not use them. Anything....any doubt, not worth it. Just get the v12 now and treat yourself.

JB:

Sounds like a good approach. I am sure that I'll end up getting tires sometime this spring.

I have a set of 18" wheels (Turbo Twists) from my 2004 Targa. I need to flip them over so that I can tell you guys what the offset is on them. I don't know if they will fit my TT. If they do - then I'm set with wheels for DE or AutoX, and only 2 tires to purchase to add to the Neovas that I have.

where are these dragon style turns? inquiring minds in central indy who miss the chicago north lake shore equivalent want to know.

i dont think it has been mentioned, but check the tire date code.

if the tires are very dated or they have cracks as suggested above, just get new tires.

Lots of places in Monroe and Brown county.....hiding in plain site. The PCA group did a wine tour last summer/fall....bingo for some of them. ...

I used to run ventus v12 on my BMW 335 and those things stood up extremely well. In fact they lasted longer than my rims and didn't even bubble when I hit the pothole that cracked one of my rears. I vouch for them.
