Best deal on wheels?
Hi All - I was wondering where I could find the best deal on aftermarket wheels for my turbo. There's probably a lot of ways to look at what would be considered best but would say my considerations are:
1. Cost
2. Looks
3. Performance

Suggest you look at the BBS RS-GT (see picture of my Turbo beside).
Not cheap but probably one of the best when looks and performance are considered. These meet the tough German TUV standards which many/most aftermarket wheels don't. If these are too expensive then consider BBS CH which are about 60% of the price and good also. Also are TUV approved.

Thanks - it's kind of hard to see the wheels from the picture. (Great reply LVDell!) I'll look into TUV further. Cost is definitely a consideration for me since my wife doesn't understand the need... I just put a new stereo system and a chunk of change for the car so might have to let the smoke settle. Everyone's input is greatly appreciated!!!

The Oz Allegaritta's{spelling} can't be beat for price, weight, and performance. There may be lighter ones but not in this price range. They look pretty darn good too. Tire Rack carries them.

Buying used will be the best value.
Generally higher quality, lighter weight, top of the line wheels- which meet OE/TUV standards will cost $1300 per wheel. They slide down to $300 per wheel boat anchors on Tirerack. (not saying all of theirs are boat anchors)
But again a used wheel will be your best bang

For $50 a wheel, why don't you just powdercoat your wheels in black or another color? Most cost effective and you spend $200 max.
Otherwise, used wheels is the only way to go. For a good set of used wheels, your probably around $2,500-$3,000 for HRE or something simliar.

Thanks - I've checked tire rack and a few other online places. Have also browsed my local Craigslist looking for a used set. I've seen some nice powdercoated wheels but wanted to bump to 19". Is there a good place to find used wheels?

Be aware that 19s on that car will impact the handling.
I have two sets of wheels and I like them both for different reasons... My CCW C10s are my track wheels and are very light and very strong. You can get a set of them from CCW for about $3K
My street wheels are indeed heavy. They're Victor Equipment wheels that are about the same weight as non-hollowspoke OEM 996TT wheels.
They also cost less than $1400. Although heavy, I like them and have had them on the car for about 2.5 years without issue.

My tirerack boat anchors weigh only 18 lbs in front and 20 for the rear. OZ make great wheels IMHO. And the price is right!

The OZ wheels and others in the pictures do look great. I jumped over t 6speed based on Tim's recommendation and found several more options. I'm not sure what impact handling wise going with a larger wheel would have. The car already seems very rigid on the roads so that's an added consideration as well. Bottom line is there's a huge number of options out there but difficult to know which is better. The mix of cost, aesthetics, handling characteristics, etc. is a bit overwhelming so I'm very appreciative of everyone's input.
