I got a better idea of why people stick to stock 18" for track / performance from this article:

You should just give up the search and go ahead and buy my wheels.

You can get 22's on that baby, just kick the camber out a little. Who cares about handling when you're rolling slick like that...just ribbing Mike.

Yep, too much time on 6speed will take it's toll....

Seriously; 19's seem to work well on the 997, although I understand the smaller the better in physics terms [putting gearing aside]

How you doin' man?

I don't know why the 19s don't work. Maybe it's the difference in the design of the suspension... All I know is that most guys who run 19s come around to the fact that their 996TT isn't as "compliant" as it was... takes a while for the "shine" to wear off the toy, but most that have switched and switched back do comment that the 19s negatively effect how the car drivers... Some don't notice it and are happy, so I guess it's just dependent on who you are and how you drive your car.

How you liking Arizona?

Doing good Mike; just getting settled down, haven't found permanent digs yet. I'll be a lot happier when we find "home" and I can set up the garage, find all my tools again! Work's has been getting in the way of fun; traveling less but more hours at the office. Looking forward to ski season, i'll be able to do it on long weekends now.

Those OZ's look great! I too recommend them as they are as light as CCW and cost much less.

Please give me a call if interested.

Thanks for your help Damon. I am really glad I went with the matte graphite. We've had over 7 feet of snow this month, so the timing was great!

Shop hard on ebay and you can get a great set of 18" Turbo Technology II wheels (true hollow spoke) for around $1,000 - I did. With shipping you're under $1,100. Gunmetal wheels in this pic (also hollow spoke) came on the car and they had a bit of rash, although ran true, so I bought 'perfect' bright ones on ebay for show.

Default 19 OZs for sale

I have two sets of 19 Ultraleggeras for sale. One set with Michelin PS2s (235 35 19/315 25 19 and on set with Yokohama Advan AD08 (245 35 29/295 30 19). Matte Black. I am selling because car is becoming dedicated track car. I have a new suspension set up and can not run tires I want on 19s. Yes, 18s better choice for track due to more tire choice. If Hossier sold 245 35 19 fronts I would not sell them. Toyo R888s with 235 35 19 front and 295 30 19 work. The front Toyos are taller them most other brands. But I want to run Hossiers.

This has been discussed many times. You need to look at the diameter and number of revs per mile for each tire brand. The are very diffferent. The PS2s above are perfect and the Yokos are 26 inch in back and 25.8 in front with a 7 rev difference. I can live with hat. If your car is not dropped, the Yokos (almost new) will work. If it is dropped or you plan to drop it, then go with the PS2s.

I also have a set of Forgestar F14 18s in Matte Black (9 front and 12 back) with spent Nitto NT01s. for sale. They have a 8 1/4 back space and rub on the inside with my new set up. I can only run an 8 inch back space. Did not rub on stock or with previous H&R coilover set up.

All 3 sets come with metal valve stems and the Forgestars come with RAD cold forged lub bolts.

I was going to post pix in classifieds when I get some time. Hopefully this weekend.

Regards
