Talking new 996 tt owner-what a ride!!

Hello everybody.....long time Porsche nut here..new twin turbo owner....about a month ago my wife and i traded her 08 Boxster and my 06 F150 crew cab for a 2003 996 turbo w/x50 option. Car is loaded with heated sport seats, full leather (vents and all) metropol blue int, previous owner put Champion 19" monolites wheels in Black ,short shift kit and lowered it with H and R springs!! Car is Polar silver...WOW...what an awesome color...I had an 87 911 in diamond blue metallic and it reminds me of that color with the shade changes depending on light! Car also has nav which i haven t even read about yet cause it is such a blast to drive and i will leave that to my son to figure out how it works. As you can see by my avatar I have been driving a 951 past ten years and the power the TT has at any rpm is amazing! We got a 3 year/36 from dealer also to help me sleep at night. Am trying to sell 951 to passify the wifey...but it might stay for a track car if no good offers. I know everyone is going to ask for the obligatory photos...we are taking it for a little w/e run the catskills and will take some pic and post next week. It has 31k and the major 30k service has already been done. Anything you experienced guys think i should check/change/replace?? Thanks for any input.

Put Locktite on the rear wiper...or you will have the tell tale scratches on Left Rear qtr panel!!! The wiper will unscrew itself if you use it.

This is the first I am hearing of this. I actually use my wiper so I'll need to check into this. Thanks for the heads up.

Only car for me (so far) that I am more amazed with after 3 years than the day I bought it....just a ridiculously over engineered piece of German machinery.

Oil consumption seems to vary with driving style based on what I read here on the forum. On the maintenance front, I would remove the front bumper (search for youtube video on how) and clean out the radiators on both sides, because I promise you it was not done by the dealer and you WILL be amazed by what you find clogged in the radiators.

congrats! Just picked mine up today-my last Pcar was also a 951. I'm ready for this rain to go away, too... drove 300 miles home with it raining the entire way...
