Looks very good. Be sure to take car for short drive after washing to dry brakes. Had my 03 in the dealership the other day for oil/filter service and fuel filter. After work done dealer washes the car and then parks it outside for me, locked. I arange payment over the phone then after work drive to dealer, leave my Boxster and take the Turbo home. The other day I got in the Turbo and checked everything and started engine and after a short warmup tried to drive off but engine darn near stalled.
I made sure I had the transmission in 1st gear and the parking brake off and tried again. There was a hesitation and then a loud pop as the parking brakes broke free. Rust. In just that short a time, around 7 or 8 hours.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Has my car been flashed? How can I tell?
I have the service records from the 2nd owner, but not the first. I have nothing about a possible flash or even the EVO airbox that is installed.
I noticed this morning that the gauge is showing 1.0 bar under hard acceleration.
Also, I had taken the car to Roger Beasley last Saturday to clear a check engine light and the tech asked if the ECU has been changed due to a overboost code he detected and cleared.
This is bitter sweet if true because it means I have the extra boost without having to pay for it, but it also means I can't get another 80 bhp on the cheap.

My first month of ownership has been an emotional roller coaster. My ear to ear grin has been equally matched by my vomit inducing fear of catastrophic failure. I have silently questioned whether I had the intestinal fortitude to own such a contraption.
In one month the car has been to the dealer twice, once on a flatbed. Neither were serious, though I did pay $480 to replace a $40 hose. The front tires have worn unevenly (down the center) and even though there are 5/32nds remaining, I should replace them soon. No alignment issue, just improper inflation.
I seriously considered trading the car for an '05 997s today. I drove the 997 for about an hour to see if I could be satisfied by car. In the end, it would have been a decent substitute but it just didn't have that Je ne c'est qua of the turbo.
In the end, I love the turbo. I just needed to go through the process and make peace with my feelings. I have covered 2000 miles already and now know I couldn't be satisfied with anything else. That is why I searched for so long to find the perfect one in the first place!
Instead of trading for another car, I purchased an aftermarket warranty. My peace of mind alone is worth the purchase. Maybe I'll be able to let go of the fear and just enjoy the car as it was meant to be.
On a lighter, my only disappointment is that I haven't been hit on by any of the ladies. I have noticed some glances, but nothing like my buddy's claims of phone numbers being left under the wiper blade of his R8.

if you want to get hit on by the ladies you're in the wrong car definitely ... the 996tt is a guys guy car. only we appreciate the gt1 inspired metzger engine block and all the other subtleties. the styling is a little staid and purposeful --- not flashy. now if you want those ladies in austin to hit on you because of your car, you should get a ferrari. anyway glad you've decided to keep your 996tt.
