Default Thinking of Selling 2005 Turbo S Porsche - What is a fair price to advertise?

I need some help in pricing my Car before I place it for sale. Of course I think it is mint. The only flaws I can find is a slight scuff on the top on the side and some scuffs on the drivers seat where you slide in. Both quite common I think.

It is slightly modified, should I demod it first? The purpose of this post is NOT to sell it but to decide if I want to. Hopefully I am not violating any site rules by this. It is not my intent.

What I need to know is:

1) For a car in this condition with this mileage (6,750) what should I expect to get in my pocket for it and what should I advertise it for?

2) Should I remove the mods, they are mild and only accentiuate the car and do it good (IMHO)

3) Where is the best place to advertise (eBay?, auto Trader?)

Here is the add I was thinking of placing.

"Exceptional 2005 Midnight Blue over Grey, Porsche Twin Turbo S Cabriolet, 6 Speed with all options, Only 6,750 Miles since NEW, and a Florida Car. She is absolutely mint and completely pampered. Tastefully upgraded to Include, Performance SS High Flow Headers, Cats and Exhaust, Dual Air Intake, Forge DVs, 1 Bar Wastegates, Softronic ECU Flash, and H2O/MeOH computerized Progressive Injection. You will not find a better example. NEVER Tracked, Raced or Abused in anyway, it is simply One Fast and Fun Street Car! A unique Opportunity to get the car you want, with the Performance upgrades you need, All done!"

Thanks for any help.

Ian

Having recently purchased a 6T coupe - I'd say a fair price for a private party sale would be in the 60s.

Quick search on Autotrader found this 05 Turbo S 10 mins from my house. ($69.9)

FWIW - yours looks better.

Oh, and I would list on Autotrader, here, 6Speed, and would even consider working with a broker to deal with all the tire kickers.

Nice car bit those tires look horrible on it. The tread looks like something on a 4X4 truck.

Interesting observation. They are the original stock tires. Maybe it is just the lighting, what would you suggest as an alternative?

Interesting. What stock tires did they mount that look like WRC tires? There just isn't anything better than the PS2.

They are standard Turbo S Bridgestone Potenza S02A front and rear.

Here are some photos.

Ah, ok. The SO2A. I had those delivered on my 996CAB 8 years ago. I really liked that tire. I just don't remember them having such an aggressive tread pattern that extends so far over the sidewall.

My $.02 for input on your potential sale.

*I would leave the mods. It will allow yours to stand out in a soft market. Especially since it has been flashed, it would be a waste to remove items rendering the flash useless.

*Why are you considering selling?

Either way, best of luck with your decision. She's a beauty.

Thanks for the insight. I may be moving overseas, and really do not want to take the car with me. I will most likely buy another once I am settled. Perhaps a 2008-2010 Turbo. I have not really decided to sell it yet but may test the waters on AutoTrader Online.

If this is a Turbo S Cab they only made approx 400 of them and it was a 1 year only car. If you can find a Turbo S c ab with 6,000 miles on it for the mid 60s grab it. Dealers are looking for these cars because they are reselling them in the mid 70s. There are Turbo S coupes in the high 70s so a Cab is a bonus. As for the mods you need to find the right person. The car is not lighly modded If it was just the chip and exhast OK but water injection etc. makes it more than just lightly modded. I looked for a year for a turbo s cab before finding one with 19,000 miles for 65,000. There are some for mid 60,000 but they are not in good shape or have high miles.

The market is very soft and what is selling are coupes over cabs. I'd ask $60k and take $55K if you want to sell it relatively quickly. GLWS.

The market will always remain soft for 996 TT....they simply made too many of them.
