Default Engine drop for spark plug and diverter change

Has anybody used the partial engine drop to make accessing the plugs and DV's any easier?

Remove the air box and undue the 2 outboard engine mount bolts whilst supporting the engine on a floor jack(with the rear of the car on jack stands) will allow 2-3 inches of engine drop without any further efforts.

Thanks,
BD

I think dropping the engine a bit to change the DV's is more work than it is worth.

I'm with Doc on this one. Its not that hard to change either the plugs or the DV's.

I did it and it is a really easy job + take the time to pressurized the intake assy. and if, like me, you got a leak in the forward end you just drop again and fix it properly.... A good inspection while you are at it never hurt also. see links: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...tt-engine.html

jp flip,

where was the leak in the forward end of your intake manifold? I am curious to see if you had access all the way to the front of the engine, where the intake hose splits up towards the compressors. Thanks.

I am sorry but it was not that far. I was able to reach and spray soap for leak check to all the small pipes related to diverter valves function and N75 valve which is about 3 inches aft of the oil tank. 3 to 4 inches more access when you lower the engine....
