Kelly-Moss (Madison, WI) put in a Porsche European spec suspension in mine for just that purpose -- except I never did DE's with it. Maybe there is a specialist in NJ who can do the same for you. Or give Kelly Moss a call and see if they'll ship.

Or better yet, buy my '01 cause they're already installed

I bought 2 996 Turbos. The first one has a PSS9 coilover set in it and I like it just fine. I heard good things about the KW Variant 3 coilover suspension and ordered it for my second turbo. These two set ups seem to be more popular - especially if you still want streetability and occaisional track use. If you do a little searching here you will find a lot of information and opinions.

I have heard the X73 is a little harsh on the street. What do you think? Up hear in Metro NYC, the roads are not as nice as NC.

There are soooooo many things to do... But since this in an INTERNET BRANDS OWNED website, come over to renntrack.com and check my extensive suspension DIY in the 996TT section...

Carlo,

I have the X73 on my 996TSCab tuned with an EVOMS GT700 kit, and our upstate New York winters wreak havoc on our roads come spring, but I find the X73 not too harsh over bumps and for a non-track car, it's fine.

BTW, I had Protosport in Pompton Plains do an H&R Clubsport suspension for my 993TT that they tuned for me, so give Paul and John a call there if you want aftermarket suspension work for your 996TT.

do pss10's. love them and you can't go wrong. best bang for your buck. less than 3k you can buy a new set and unlike x73s they're adjustable.

I had the x73 on my '02 TT coupe and found that it increased the harshness on the road too much for my liking, although it was a big improvement on the track. Find someone that has done it to their car before you do it and go for a ride. I suspect it depends also where you live; Chicago roads are terribly rough compared to Az or Nv.

As long as the roads are fairly smooth, you'll be fine in the X73.

I've had X73 for 6 years. The car's handling, steering response, and "plant" at higher speeds is just fantastic. But X73 is a stiff ride, and on roads that are not smooth it can be pretty jarring. So what's my verdict? X73 turns the Turbo into a proper Porsche sports car. I love it way transformed the car. The stiffer motor mounts that are part of X73 are great too. If someone bought a Turbo because they like its "GT" qualities, this is not the suspension for you.
