Default Need some expert advice

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying this car:

http://www.ecarlist.com/cgi-bin/show...8567&d_id=2036

While I will absolutely have a PPI done (I think you have all recommended Ruf Auto Center in the past in Dallas - I spoke with Hans earlier today), I am wondering if anything in the pictures jumps out at you guys. You are all far more expert than I at knowing if something looks off.

Thanks,
Trevor

If I could get it for the same price with X50 I'd be thrilled

I bought my Turbo from CUSI a few months ago and had a pleasant experience w/ them. If you are working with DJ Magness, then tell him that I said hi.

Price sounds fair if it needs absolutely nothing (i.e. tires, chin spoiler, etc).

Credit Union Auto Mall has some very nice cars - you're probably working with DJ Magness? I looked at several of their cars before finding a privately owned 2001, and they were all pristine.

You should ping Michael-Dallas over on 6speed.com - he traded in a C4S coupe and bought an 03 TT there and has been very happy. There's probably $5k of wiggle room in that price - use whatever Hans gives you on the PPI to negotiate down.

Edit - Michael is fast, isn't he!!!

Thanks guys. It looks like the deal is not going to happen, so I'm gonna keep looking. We can't agree on price, and while it meets my must-have list, there are some nice-to-have features that it doesn't have, so I'm not gonna stretch for it. I appreciate the input.

If anyone knows of places to look for these cars other than 6speedonline, autotrader, cars.com, eBay, and craigslist please let me know.

Regards,
Trevor

Why did the deal fall through? PPI results affect the sale? Price seemed in line for a clean PPI.

LVDell - the price isn't bad, but the car isn't exactly what I'm looking for, so I figured if I could get it for a good deal, then I would pull the trigger. We ended up being about $1000 apart, and I have already stretched my budget more than I intended to see if I could get in a low miles 2003. I might just have to end up being in a higher mileage 2003 or a low mileage 2002.

Regards,
Trevor

Trevor, best of luck with your search! Good call, if it's not EXACTLY what you want, then move on. $1K is nothing at this price point so I think it was more than $1K in your mind....it was you knowing that no matter matter, it wouldn't be "the one"

Be patient and you will find the right one for you.
