true... true... I learned my lesson. In truth this misadventure is/was mostly a result of my ignorance in how the car transportation business works.

Never again.

There's always flying there and driving it back.....That worked for me on my last 2 cars and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A road trip in your new car. Priceless.

Meh, 2800 miles of mainly flat and straight superslab driving an unknown (at that time) car. Nah, not my cup of tea.

Yes, precisely. The previous owner had them special-made and they feel fantastic.

They are made of Alcantara material with reversed red stitching, fitting snug and tight over each front seat with some sort of zippered edge (I can’t tell you for sure, as I haven’t removed them) that runs along the edge of each seat.

I'm sorry to hear of your ordeal. I am a transporter and have taken some of First Class Transport's vehicles for them. Unfortunately I didn't get your vehicle, but one thing for others to know. When you book your shipment, tell them you would like your vehicle shipped in a non stacking trailer, this will ensure you get a 2 or 3 car carrier that will be more apt to bring your car directly to you with maybe a stop or two.
Again, sorry to hear about your situation. All it does is give other transporters a bad image.

My experience...always try to find a "door-to-door" transporter; its worth the additional $$. Most delivery uncertainty issues, and scatch 'n dent mysterious accidents happen when transporters off load/re-load at intermediate terminals.

Hmm, new user with one post. Revives necro-thread to link to a transport company's website.

We hear it all the time: you get what you paid for!

Sorry it happened but next time, please get a top notch transporter. When I bought my supercharged 1989 928 S4 5 speed manual from CA, I went with the most expensive transporter at the time. All went well and it was a direct way to my house in an enclosed 2-level 40' trailer. I was a happy camper despite what I paid. But I followed advise from rennlist and I had no regrets. I did consider 1st Auto Transport and many others and I learned about their processes enough not to deal with them. Most of the affordable (or cheap) transporters will use a drop off lots where your car will be picked by the next driver until it makes its destination. I am glad that all worked out for you at the end.
