Default Sparkplugs

Car is due for a service. I have no idea what type of sparkplugs I have in my car. Car is XP50 flashed to 1.3bar (peak) with Cargraphics exhausts. Do I replace with stock plugs or do I need to put in anything else? Thanks.

Also, at 80K miles, do I replace ignition coils as a precaution or leave them be if ok?

Check with your tuner for recommendations...just make sure you don't use Beru. You didn't give the MY nor the mileage at the last service interval. Is the car running OK? When was the flash? And I assume you mean the car has the X50 option?

FWIW, Kevin recommended Bosch FR6 LDC plugs in this thread regarding an 02:

I would send him a PM and ask if this is still true.

AFAIK, 2001 was the only MY with FR5 plugs...after that they were FR6

Car is 04. @30K flash was done but with previous owner. All I had done was 2 small services (oil, fuel filter, brakes and checks) since then. Now time for the big one. So no idea what plugs are in there but are working superb since 30K. Car now at 80K. I will also replace belt.

So Bosch it is, by the look of things. How long do you guys keep in a set of plugs?

I use the same Bosch plugs...I have changed mine twice (from original) and I have ~15K on the Odometer....with performance mods, you are lucky to get 20K out of plugs.

I will report what plugs I have in the car. My car has 530bhp@crank. Last service entry I have from tuners which also refers to plugs change is at 30K miles. I now have 73K. Is this possible?

How do plugs go bad on you? CEL? Cutting out on acceleration? I have none.

The first change of plugs was when I did my major mods. The second one was after 10K. Going 20K on modded car is good...much more than that...well either you're lucky or they're bad and you don't know it. Fuel efficiency, power at higher gears will suffer with bad plugs. Eventually you may get misfires and throw a CEL. What ever you do, look at the plugs when they are replaced...inspect the coil packs carefully and cut the oil filter open and look at it.
