Default Exhaust Install

Does the bumper have to come off to install an aftermarket exhaust?
TIA--

I believe so. Europipe recommended the rear bumper be removed, so that's what I did when I installed my EP2 Loud.

No, bumper does not need to come off if you know what you are doing. If you are doing it yourself though for the first time, it does make it easier as you can pull the exhaust straight back, instead of tilting it and wiggling it out. It only takes about 10 minutes to R&R the rear bumper. To get it out with the bumper on, you have to do some wiggling to get it just right so it will drop out the bottom, which can be frustrating if you haven't been in there before.

The doc is right, it's even easier on a 996tt.

I've done it both with bumper on and off and it is definitely worth it to take the bumper off. You will save aggravation for sure, but possibly time overall by having it off.

Thanks Slant -- Now all I have to do is source a used 200 cell exhaust...
