ECU reflash=new clutch?
How many of you guys that did a stage 1 reflash, needed to get a new clutch because of it? I would like an extra 70 HP, but do I want to replace my clutch with only 10,000 miles on it?

It's a requirement of how the clutch was used or abused.
If the previous owners rode the clutch and lived in Seattle or San Francisco, it most likely will need a new clutch.

I'm with Kevin; the flash and the clutch are two seperate matters. The stock clutch will easily handle the power is used right. If abused (read drag slipped) the stock clutch won't even handle the stock power. Mine is flased, OE clutch has 60k miles and is just fine.

Burning Brakes
First- I do not believe that "flash kills clutch".
HOWEVER, I do get the distinct sense that at WOT, in 3rd gear, with 100 octane at 60F, I can generate enough power to overcome my stock clutch. If I repeatedly do this, I think I would burn it up. Just my sense.
So, I don't do that.
I've really never understood how people cannot "feel" what is going on with their clutch- to me I have a pretty good sense of when I am slipping, or when I am abusing it, and just keep under that point... although I expect that after a bit, you've glazed the surface and you spiral down into replacement...

Adam, It has more to do with how the car is tuned...
I had the "Upsolute" superior tune and had zero issues... Car NEVER showed evidence of slipping. I had done several tests with it to see "IF" it would slip... 3rd to 5th gear shifts showed ZERO slipping, multiple tries... I say superior with tongue firmly planted in cheek, 'cause that tune is garbage.
I did the UMW tune on my car, along with 5 bar FPR and wastegate springs and the thing INSTANTLY started slipping on DAY ONE.
It has a LOT to do with how Kevin dials in his torque curve.
