Personally, none of the modifications I've made to my Turbo were done in an attempt to chase any stopwatch performance gains.

The question is, are you modding the car for yourself or the next guy to own it?

Personally, I believe that you should do whatever continues to put a smile on your face and improves your experience with the car. For me, the first mod I would ever do is to replace the stock manual shifter with a 997 or 997-short throw.

Is it going to vastly improve the performance of the car? No
Is it going to improve my enjoyment of the car? YES
